In Ghaziabad, a 35-year-old man was arrested for allegedly causing the death of a 70-year-old woman during a confrontation with her son in Madhuban Bapudham. The incident occurred when the deceased's son, Bijendra Kumar, had a dispute with the accused, Majid, who resides in the same area. Reportedly, the woman, Ramvati Devi, tried to intervene to protect her son, but Majid pushed her, causing her to fall and sustain fatal injuries. ACP Abhishek Srivastava stated that the altercation took place late at night when Majid, who was allegedly intoxicated, was sitting outside the Kumar residence. The argument escalated, leading to the tragic outcome. Ramvati was immediately taken to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries. An FIR has been lodged under various sections of the law, and the accused has been remanded to judicial custody following a court hearing.
